Fluting
Fluting is the backbone of corrugated board. It is the ingredient that absorbs the blows and withstands the changes in temperature and humidity throughout the logistics chain. Powerflute stands for superior quality and 100% pure birch fibre. Thanks to this short hardwood fibre and specialised manufacturing process, Powerflute offers outstanding moisture resistance and unbeatable stacking strength.
Even in extremely humid conditions (RH > 85%) Powerflute maintains its stiffness and stacking performance. Exceptional strength contributes to greater savings, because high-quality packaging can be created with lighter, more cost-effective material. With Powerflute the same packaging performance can be achieved with up to 30% less weight. Further savings are possible because usually liner grammages can be reduced at the same time.
Our birch fibre base delivers uncompromised purity and hygiene. To ensure Powerflute is suitable for food packaging in all conditions, we use only birch fibre on our production line and carry out regular product safety testing in co-operation with an independent third-party laboratory.
Powerflute meets the strict EU and US requirements for food packaging. For example, the heavy metal content in Powerflute is far below the limit set by EU directives.
The Nordic nature is clean, crisp and formidable. Temperatures vary from +30 ºC in the summer to -30 ºC in the winter, with the endless light of July to the pitch darkness of January. No wonder that the heart of our fluting – hard, uncompromised wood fibre – can withstand even the most challenging conditions.
