Management changes at Powerflute Savon Sellu

15.09.2009

Powerflute Oyj, the manufacturer of Nordic semi-chemical fluting based in Kuopio, Finland, today announces that Ulla Eränummi-Siren will retire from her position as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Powerflute Savon Sellu on 31 December 2009. She will be replaced by Robert Vaenerberg who joins the company with effect from 1 November 2009 and will assume the position of Vice President of Sales and Marketing with effect from 1 January 2010 following a transitional period.

Mrs Eränummi-Siren joined Powerflute in March 2005 shortly after its acquisition by a group of investors led by Dermot Smurfit. Since then, she has made a major contribution to the development of the current sales network of Savon Sellu and the promotion of the Powerflute® brand.

Mr. Vaenerberg has a strong paper industry background. He had an excellent track record in Sales and Marketing of Savon Sellu’s fluting when he was working for Finnboard from the late 80’s to the late 90’s. Over the last 10 years Mr. Vaenerberg worked in the banking sector where he specialised in the paper and packaging industries.

Commenting on the announcement, Juha Koukka CEO of Savon Sellu said:

“Since joining us in 2005, Ulla has made a very significant contribution to the success story of Powerflute® and Savon Sellu and has been a key member of the management team. We would like to take this opportunity to thank her for the commitment she has shown to the Company and to congratulate her on the many achievements over the last 5 years. We wish Ulla and her family all the best for the future.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Vaenerberg as Ulla’s replacement and believe that his knowledge and experience will ensure a seamless transition and enable us to build on the solid platform created by Ulla.”
